We desire for people of faith in Jesus to develop a holy SWAGGER= Servant, Warrior, Accountable, Great Commandment, Great Commission, Exuberance, Righteousness. Today's entry is the first of a series of posts.
S=Servant. "Matt 23:11 The greatest among you will be your servant."
One of the greatest attributes of leaders is a desire to serve others. Jesus communicated that the most important thing we can do is to love God with all our heart mind soul and strength and then to love others. Jesus referred to others as neighbors, that means whoever is next to you (even the folks that you do not care for). As leaders we need to understand that "People do not Care until they know how much you care-John Maxwell"
As people of faith we think we need to "do good things". Jesus said Love first and then out of the overflow of our love for him we will serve others. "Be to do not do to be." "Everybody can be great because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love." ~ MLK
Jesus washed his teams' (the disciples) feet, how can we serve someone today? a Coach? a team member? family?
