Surf's Up

Looking forward to a relaxing day with my family at the beach (evacuating due to the nascar race in Dover). Wesley was victorious yesterday and the scoreboard would indicate many embraced playing for God not the scoreboard. Beautiful day in Delaware yesterday and my sons enjoyed the game.

Blessed that William and Edward made it through the entire game. Their favorite part was M&M's & connecting with their favorite player, Jeremiah Santiago, after the game. Jeremiah told me last night that he would put a post together for us.

Wesley is faithful to pray after every game (win or lose) and invites the opponent to pray with them. "Psalm 100:4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name." We enjoyed praying with the team, Coaches and all the cheerleaders at mid-field after the game. Wesley has a great winning tradition, finishing in the top four in Division III football two out of the last three years.

But more importantly, the Wolverines have returned to a winning tradition spiritually. Their namesake, John Wesley, would be pleased. John Wesley once said, "“Give me one hundred men who love only God with all their heart and hate only sin with all their heart, and we will shake the gates of hell and bring in the kingdom of God in one generation.” God let it be so in our generation.

We are grateful for the time of ministry and mentoring we had yesterday. I am trying to bring my sons to as much as I possibly can with me. Two weeks ago, William prayed for the entire Wesley Lacrosse team! In the past I have left my sons behind. God spoke to me through a message by Voddie Baucham (www.voddiebaucham.org) recently about involving my sons more in the ministry.

Busyness can often deceive us into thinking that the discipleship of others is more important than our own family. The discipleship of my three sons is a multi-generational impact not just a present day battle of time and busyness. Thank you Lord for speaking to me through my mother-in-law giving me Voddie's CD. Lord remove the blinders and deception of not discipling our children.

"Surf's Up!"

Make it a great day!
