Real Deal

James 1: 2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything

Today I took my weekly trip to Cheyney University to see my friend Coach Jeff Braxton. Jeff has been the Head Coach at Cheyney for two years. CU's record is a combined 0-22 during this time.

The world would evaluate Coach's record as failure but God does not see it that way. God is only concerned that Jeff is focused on the character development of the young men entrusted to him. Coach was very positive about his circumstances and is determined to focus on what is important, developing leaders for life. How would you respond if you were 0-22?

We look forward to assisting coach with player development and will be organizing the first Cheyney Football retreat to create a team building and leadership development experience for his team. Please pray for Jeff as he builds men and for those Coaches that may be defining themselves on winning versus what is most important. What good is it if we win and our players lose as fathers and husbands?

If you are led please email Coach Braxton a word of encouragement: jbraxton@cheyney.edu

Make it a great night!
