Ouch!

Voddie Baucham (voddiebaucham.org )recently said in a sermon on discipleship of your family if you are not saying “Amen!” you should be saying “Ouch!”
I said “Ouch!” this morning!

Not sure if you will connect with this or not but it spoke to me so I thought I would share the double edged sword that pierced me.

"Heb 4:12For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

Charles Stanley said Sunday morning that at one point God broke him and instructed him to take three months off. When he returned from the sabbatical his church had more attendance and higher giving. God showed him whose ministry (business) it was. I am consistently guilty of doing more work and producing more and not praying enough.

Is our ministry God’s ministry or our ministry?
Is your team or business God’s or is it yours?
Are we taking time to be still now before God has to break us?
Do we pray more than we “produce”?
What does God desire to do in our lives that our busyness is delaying?

God help me to be more prayerful about what you would like to do in my life and ministry. The Charles Stanley message is “God’s Path to Brokenness” on intouch.org
