"I'm busy" is not in Coach Frank Parks (Seaford Legacy Group) vocabulary. God working through Coach is establishing a fruitful ministry for FCA with his church this Fall. St. John's UMC adopted the Seaford HS Football team this year. Every Friday night before their games (home and away), Coach Parks and his wife prepare a home cooked meal for the team and provide a guest speaker. Coach's influence extends to the field where the SHS team is now praying at mid field after each game.
Frank also Coaches MS soccer, Little League Baseball, leads a middle school Huddle an frequently speaks for FCA at a local Detention Center. In addition to his above and beyond service, Frank owns and operates his company: Home Team Realty.
Frank surrendered his life to Christ in the midst of a drug laden past. He spent time in prison and was homeless. His testimony and life experiences are impacting lives for eternity. A few years ago at UMC's Walk to Emmaus, God spoke to him and he gave his life and business to Jesus. Frank is currently finalizing his book about his life story which will be published soon.
Recently, Frank desired to be baptized as an adult (after discussing it with his Pastor) which Frank urgently & spontaneously recommended take place in a river behind his house with two other Coaches & his wife after our Coaches Bible study @ 10:30pm at night. Frank is passionate about his surrender and was not too busy to walk more deeply with Jesus that night. I will never forget Coach Parks saying, "We need to go to the river and be baptized right now!" Wow! "Say what you mean, and mean what you say!"
Coach Parks gains more spiritual territory every day gaining more wisdom and gaining more freedom in his journey with Christ. Coach says he was bound by guilt from his past. The enemy was lying to him about his usefulness for the Kingdom. Frank understands now that God wants to flourish through our brokenness.
We make excuses for Jesus. Often our answer is "I'm too busy Jesus" or "I will give you left overs when I am done with my priorities (texting, watching sports, facebook)". I met with a group of college football players today who unanimously agreed that they needed more balance in their schedules for Christ. A player last week cringed when I recommended fasting texting for 40 days, he said he had 4,000 texts the previous month.
DO NOT COUNT THE DAYS OF YOUR LIFE, MAKE THE DAYS OF YOUR LIFE COUNT!
Make it a great night!
