Absence

The Phillies are in the bottom of the ninth inning of Game 5 as I type my first entry in almost two weeks. I have missed blogging however the busyness of ministry kept me from blogging. Not a good indication of the absence of margin in my life. The enemy loves to "play" us.
The success of the Phillies this year brings back great memories of my father (who died when I was nine). Boy did Alvin Chambers loves the Phillies and baseball. We listened to Harry Kalas and Ritchie Ashburn on the radio when they were at Veterans stadium back in those days. I used to throw a tennis ball off the bricks in the back of our home and act out the game as Harry & Ritchie called it on the radio. I remember my dad working a lot and being a dedicated store manager of ACME but always being in the stands for my baseball games. Great memories!
Unfortunately, the enemy uses absence of father to create strongholds. Dad's death of cancer was an injustice which has tremendous spiritual power. Not only was there a void of a fathers love but add the injustice and you have a lot of spiritual power outage. It has taken me years to have spiritual eyes for the strongholds and bondage that existed and exists in my life.
Although, life's journey is messy and mysterious, I am thankful for the pain and wounds that absence of father left. God continues to use the scars to set His children free. I consistently meet with young men that have no father presence and find themselves bound spiritually by the powers of darkness. They often do not understand the authority and power they have in Jesus. He died to set us free (Gal 5:1)!
Please pray for all of the fatherless, that they would embrace the Father's love and walk in freedom, breaking down strongholds with the weapons that are not of this world! Casting down generational sin and seeking to forgive their dads. Also pray for Coach Manuel who is dealing with absence of mother. Now that the blog is finished the Phillies have won! and are going to the Series.
God bless Coach Manuel and allow him to experience closure with losing mom. Comfort him and give him peace. I pray the Phils will play with all their hearts for him in the Series!
Make it a great night!
Coach Chambers

Are you free?
Will you allow Jesus to use your wounds and pain to set captives free?
